Interacts with other software
On CorePOS, Advanced Fees performs automatic fee application based on merchant-defined rules. Merchants can configure fees to trigger under specific conditions such as payment type (e.g., credit vs. cash), time of day, item category, subtotal thresholds, or custom tags. Once set up, CorePOS automatically applies the appropriate fee at checkout—no manual action required from staff. This ensures consistent pricing logic across all transactions while giving merchants full control over when and how fees are charged.
When the Register app is opened and at least one item is added, the Advanced Fees app activates. Based on the merchant’s settings, it can either apply the fee automatically or prompt the clerk to confirm whether the fee should be applied for that specific transaction.
The Advanced Fees app allows merchants to assign fees to specific inventory items. During fee setup, merchants can select which items will trigger the fee. For order-level flat fees (instead of percentage-based), a non-inventory item is used to apply the charge.
In service fee scenarios, the Advanced Fees app integrates with the Setup app by Clover to deliver a fully automated fee solution. This ensures smooth application of predefined fee rules during transactions.
Fees created using the Advanced Fees app are reflected in Clover’s native Reporting app, providing transparency and tracking of applied charges.
Interacts with other hardware

The functionality of Advanced Fees is limited to the Smart POS device, there is no other hardware interaction.
