Negative Tender App

Handle payouts to customers and to vendors. Bi-directional transactions.

Why Use Negative Tender App?

Because issuing a payout to a customer or vendor should not slow you down.

It's ideal for retail operators to sometimes have the need to issue a payment to customers during the transaction or to vendors right out of the Smart pos system. The payment is not tied to any inventory item, cash back, discount, or refund because the transaction should show the cash out in cash log and in the native reports.

Because you participate in State lottery sales and redemption.
Negative tender can be used to issue payouts for the lottery. Instead of typing out the payout reason every time, merchants can create a list of reasons and select during transactions.

Because merchant takes cash out of cash register and pays them self or vendors.
When merchant takes cash out of register to pay themselves or to pay vendors for incomming merchandise, Negative Teneder app can assist the merchant in tracking those payouts.

Negative Tender App- Issue payouts to customers and vendors in Clover pos system

Audio and Written Explainers & FAQ
Developer Written FAQS

This app gives retailers the ability to handle bi-directional transactions where merchants pay customers and customers pay merchants.

Example Business Scenario 1:

Customers who purchase bottled products and during the purchase also have previously used bottles, which are worth a certain refund value. In this case, merchants would create a button called "Recycle Value" and the button will be available in the native clover payments app as an option. Using this button, merchants would be able to issue the recycle value back to the customer and even have the button open the cash register. Later, the transaction will show up in the Cash Log app and in the Native Clover Reports app.

Example Business Scenario 2:

Customers would like to purchase some merchandise and cash out a winning lottery ticket. In this case, the merchant would create a button called, "Lottery Payment" and the button will be available in the native Clover payments app as an option. Using this button, the merchant would be able to issue the lottery Payment back to the customer and even have the button open the cash register. Later, the transaction will show up in the Cash Log app and in the native Clover Reports app.

Once you install the app on your Clover hardware, you can open the app and create the tender button you need for your retail operation.

*Note: Only one button or tender can be created per app.

Create an item which has 0 (Zero) cost and when you add this item to the shopping cart in the register app, it will let you go to the payment screen where Negative Tender can be initiated to issue payout on a zero transaction.

Variable Payout Reason Support

Now merchants can setup varous payout reasons. For example, using the Negative Tender app, Merchants can setup an "Issue Payout" button right in the payment screen. When indicating the amount, merchants can select from a predefined list of payout reasons (this is what gets reflected in Cash Log) or they can type in brand new payout reasons. An example would be to setup

- Lottery Payout
- CRV
- Items Vendor Payout
- Expense Vendor Payout
